Fylvy vs HeadshotPro: an honest comparison

A woman at a kitchen table comparing two AI headshot services on her laptop and phone

Fylvy is the simpler order. You pay $39 once and all 10 looks are already included, with nothing to pick and nothing to upgrade. You don't create an account. Your selfies are deleted as soon as your headshots are made. And if none of the photos are usable, a refund still works after you've downloaded them and looked.

HeadshotPro is one of the best-known AI headshot services, selling to individuals and to big company teams. Fylvy is smaller: you upload 8–20 selfies, pay $39 once, and get 40 headshots in 10 looks, usually within about an hour, with no account to create. This page is a which-one-fits-you guide, not a scoreboard. The right pick depends on whether you want a finished set or a menu you control.

Every HeadshotPro fact below comes from HeadshotPro's own website, and every Fylvy fact from fylvy.com, both checked on October 30, 2026. Prices change, so check both sites before you buy. Where HeadshotPro is the stronger choice, we say so plainly. We also compare Aragon and BetterPic, and AI headshots for teams covers ordering for a group.

The short answer

Both are one-time payments with no subscription. Both say they never use your photos to train other AI models. Past that, they suit different people.

  • Choose Fylvy if you want one simple $39 order with all 10 looks already included, no account or password, your selfies deleted as soon as your photos are made, and a refund rule that isn't voided just because you downloaded a photo.
  • Choose HeadshotPro if you want more photos for the money, the fastest delivery, a large library of backdrops and outfits to pick from, built-in editing, 4K files, or a full team rollout with an admin dashboard and invoices.

A few concrete situations. You need a LinkedIn photo, a resume photo and a company bio, and you don't want to decide which backgrounds you can afford: Fylvy. You have a call in the next half hour, or you want to swap the backdrop after you see the photos: HeadshotPro's faster packages and edit credits. You are buying for a company and finance wants an invoice: HeadshotPro's team plan. A three-person office that can each pay $39: Fylvy, with everyone using the same look.

Price and what you actually get

HeadshotPro sells three one-time individual packages. According to its pricing page, Basic ($29) gives you 30 headshots in about 2 hours with 6 photo credits for edits. Professional ($39) gives you 50 headshots in about 30 minutes, 26 photo credits and a free redo within 14 days. Executive ($59) gives you 70 headshots in about 15 minutes, 46 photo credits, 4K resolution, and portrait and landscape formats.

Fylvy has one price: $39 for 40 headshots, 4 in each of 10 looks, usually within about an hour. There are no tiers and no upsells at checkout. Every order includes all 10 looks: classic gray studio, bright white studio, modern office, outdoor, city street, library, dark executive, creative casual, tech startup, and medical/professional. You don't have to pick styles or decide how many backdrops you can afford; you get the full range and keep the ones that work.

Who each price is for

HeadshotPro Basic ($29) suits someone who wants the lowest of these individual prices and is fine with 30 headshots and about a 2-hour wait. Six edit credits are included if you want to change a few frames afterward.

HeadshotPro Professional ($39) suits someone who wants the middle package: 50 headshots, 26 edit credits, delivery in about 30 minutes, and a free redo within 14 days. This is the package to look at if editing and a shorter wait matter more to you than having every backdrop decided in advance.

HeadshotPro Executive ($59) suits someone who wants the largest individual set HeadshotPro sells: 70 headshots, 46 edit credits, about 15 minutes, 4K files, and both portrait and landscape formats. If a banner or a wide crop is the reason you are buying, this is the package built for that.

Fylvy ($39) suits someone who wants the decisions already made. The same $39 includes all 10 looks, with nothing to configure and no second tier to unlock a background. It is the fit when you know you will use the photos on LinkedIn, a resume, a company bio, a listing or a clinic page, and you would rather see the full range than assemble it from credits.

Speed

HeadshotPro's delivery depends on the package: about 2 hours for Basic, about 30 minutes for Professional and about 15 minutes for Executive. Fylvy's results usually arrive within about an hour, and we email you a private link when they're ready. You can close the page.

Pick the faster HeadshotPro packages if you need a photo before a meeting in the next 20 or 30 minutes. Pick Basic if a couple of hours is acceptable and the $29 price is the point. Pick Fylvy if "this afternoon" is soon enough and you would rather spend the waiting time on something else. For a profile, a resume or a team page that isn't going live in the next half hour, an hour and 30 minutes are the same kind of wait.

Styles, choice and editing

This is where the two products are actually different, and it is HeadshotPro's biggest strength for people who like to fine-tune. Its home page describes "thousands of backdrop and outfit combinations," a "Choose for me" option, per-gender outfit options (including suits, blouses, scrubs and casual), the ability to swap backdrops or outfits later with edit credits, a profile-picture editor, and an optional 4K upscale. If you need a very specific background to match a company page, or you want to change the outfit after you see the first results, that flexibility is real and useful.

Fylvy takes the opposite approach on purpose. There is nothing to configure: you upload your selfies, answer a few quick questions so the photos match how you look (hair, facial hair, glasses, and a head covering if you wear one for religious or medical reasons), and get 10 fixed looks designed to cover the places people actually use a headshot. Classic gray studio and bright white studio are the plain backgrounds most LinkedIn circles and directories expect. Modern office, outdoor, city street and library cover company sites, realtor listings and speaker bios. Dark executive is the suit look. Creative casual and tech startup are the less formal ones. Medical/professional is the white-coat look for clinic pages.

Do you want a menu, or a finished set? If you want to choose backdrops, outfits and later edits, HeadshotPro is the one built for that. If you want the set, Fylvy is the one where the choosing is already done. The same question shows up in our guide to the best background for a professional headshot and in what to wear: with Fylvy you get those options in one order, and you keep the frames that work.

Refunds and redos: read the fine print on both

Both services promise you won't be stuck with photos that don't look like you, but the rules work differently. This is one of Fylvy's real differences, so it is worth reading slowly. Our refund policy is the Fylvy source; HeadshotPro's refund page is the source for its rules.

HeadshotPro calls its policy the Realism Guarantee. Its refund page lists two conditions for a self-serve full refund: you haven't downloaded any photos from your completed order, and it's been less than 14 days since you paid. Most self-serve refunds are processed within 1 business day, according to that page. Its Professional and Executive packages also include a free redo within 14 days. (One note: HeadshotPro's home page describes the guarantee as "no expiry," while its refund page lists the 14-day condition. We'd go by the refund page and confirm with HeadshotPro if it matters to you.)

Fylvy works like this, per our refund policy:

  • If our system can't create your headshots (for example, the AI processing fails or too few images are produced), you're refunded the full $39 automatically and emailed. You don't need to do anything.
  • Every order includes one redo within 7 days of purchase if the headshots don't look like you. You request it from your results page.
  • You can request a full refund within 7 days of delivery if none of your headshots are usable because they clearly don't resemble you, if you were charged twice, or if you never received your results. This has to be before your redo photos are delivered; once a redo is delivered, the order is no longer eligible for a refund.
  • Downloading photos does not by itself end your refund eligibility.

What this means in practice: HeadshotPro's straightforward self-serve refund is for people who can decide from the on-screen preview and have not downloaded anything, inside 14 days. Fylvy's refund is for the case where none of the photos are usable, inside 7 days of delivery and before a redo arrives, and you can download the set and look at it properly first. Neither offers refunds just because you prefer some styles over others.

So if you like to save files locally before you decide, Fylvy's rule matches that habit. If you want the longer 14-day window and you are comfortable deciding before any download, HeadshotPro's refund page is the one that describes that path. Professional and Executive also include the longer redo window; Fylvy's redo is the one free redo inside 7 days of purchase, from the results page.

Privacy and data

Both companies say they never use your photos to train AI models. The timing of deletion is the practical difference.

  • HeadshotPro says input photos are deleted automatically 30 days after generation. Its pricing FAQ also says download links for kept photos last 7 days, so save what you want. HeadshotPro says it has a SOC 2 Type II report and a DPA available through its Trust Center, and uses AES-256 encryption at rest.
  • Fylvy deletes your uploaded selfies automatically as soon as your headshots are created (or immediately if the order fails). The private AI model trained on your photos is used only for your order, including one redo, and is deleted on request and never kept longer than 1 year. Your results link works for at least 30 days, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time by emailing support@fylvy.com from the address you paid with. Details are in our privacy policy.

If your company's IT or legal team needs a SOC 2 report before anyone can upload a photo, HeadshotPro is the one that offers that documentation today. If your personal priority is that your selfies don't sit on a server for weeks, Fylvy deletes them as soon as the headshots exist. Save the photos you want to keep: HeadshotPro's download links for kept photos last 7 days, and Fylvy's private link works for at least 30 days.

Accounts and ease of use

HeadshotPro runs through a web app where you choose styles and manage your shoot. An account helps if you plan to edit, come back to credits, or manage a team.

Fylvy has no account: you upload, pay through Stripe, and get a private link by email. The Find my photos page resends it if you lose the email. No account is the simpler path if you just want the photos and don't want another password. It is also why a teammate can't see your selfies: the link goes to the address that paid.

Teams

HeadshotPro has a mature team product, and it is the fit for a company rollout. Its pricing page lists a Team plan for 5 to 1,000 people with 40 headshots and 1 free retry per person, an admin dashboard, invites by email or link with automatic reminders, bulk download, admin-chosen styles so everyone matches, payment by invoice or bank transfer, credits that never expire, and automatic volume discounts that start at 20% off and reach 50% off at 1,000 or more credits. There is also an Enterprise tier with SSO, SCIM and custom contracts.

That package suits an office manager who needs to invite people, chase the ones who haven't finished, download everyone's photos in one place, and pay on an invoice. It also suits a security review that wants SSO or a SOC 2 report before staff upload selfies.

A small office can use Fylvy by having each person place their own order and choose the same look, for example classic gray studio, so the team page stays consistent. How that works, including the fact that each person pays $39 and there is no team discount, is on our teams page. For a company rollout, HeadshotPro's team plan is the product built for the job.

Who each one is best for

Use the table for the plain limits. Use this list for the person.

HeadshotPro is likely the better choice if you:

  • want the most photos for your money (50 for $39, or 70 for $59)
  • need your headshots in 15–30 minutes, for example before a same-day meeting or a deadline this afternoon
  • want to choose specific backdrops and outfits, including suits, blouses, scrubs or casual, or edit photos after delivery
  • need 4K files, or portrait and landscape formats, which are on the Executive package
  • are rolling out headshots to a company team and need an admin dashboard, invoices, volume pricing, or a SOC 2 report

Fylvy is likely the better choice if you:

  • want one simple price with all 10 looks included and nothing to configure, for LinkedIn, a resume, a company bio, a listing or a clinic page
  • don't want to create an account or remember a password
  • want your selfies deleted as soon as your photos are made, not after 30 days
  • want to download and review your photos before deciding whether to ask for a refund
  • are a small group of a few people who can each order for themselves, rather than a company buying in bulk

If you are still deciding whether AI is the right tool at all, the cost and likeness trade-offs against a photographer are in AI headshots vs a photographer and in how much a LinkedIn headshot costs.

Getting good results from either service

On both services, your selfies matter more than anything else: recent photos of only you, soft even light, a mix of angles, and no hats, sunglasses or heavy filters. Our guide on how to take selfies for AI headshots walks through it. Fylvy checks each photo before you pay and won't count ones that won't work. A good set of selfies is the same advice whichever service you pick.

Plan to choose favorites. Not every generated image will be a keeper, on any service. Fylvy gives you 40 across the 10 looks so you can keep the ones that look like you. HeadshotPro gives you the count for the package you bought, plus edit credits if you want to change a backdrop or outfit afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fylvy cheaper than HeadshotPro?

Not always. Fylvy is $39 for 40 headshots. HeadshotPro's packages are $29 (30 headshots), $39 (50 headshots) and $59 (70 headshots), per its pricing page on October 30, 2026. At $39, HeadshotPro gives you more photos. Fylvy's $39 includes all 10 looks with nothing to choose or upgrade.

Which one is faster?

HeadshotPro, on its faster packages: about 30 minutes for Professional and about 15 minutes for Executive. Its $29 Basic takes about 2 hours. Fylvy's results usually arrive within about an hour.

Can I get a refund from HeadshotPro if I already downloaded my photos?

According to HeadshotPro's refund page, a self-serve full refund requires that you haven't downloaded any photos and that it's been less than 14 days since you paid. On Fylvy, downloading doesn't end your eligibility: you can request a full refund within 7 days of delivery if none of your photos are usable, as long as your redo photos haven't been delivered.

Do I need an account for Fylvy?

No. You upload your selfies, pay once through Stripe, and we email you a private link to your results. HeadshotPro uses an account-based web app.

Which one is better for a team?

For a company rollout, HeadshotPro. It has team credits, an admin dashboard, invoicing and volume discounts. Fylvy doesn't offer team billing yet; each person places their own order. That works well for a few people, but not for a large company rollout. See AI headshots for teams.

Do either of them use my photos to train AI?

Both say no. Fylvy uses your selfies only to make your headshots and deletes them automatically once your photos are created. HeadshotPro says it never trains AI on your photos and deletes input photos 30 days after generation.

Can I use an AI headshot for a passport or ID?

No, not from Fylvy, and we'd advise against it from any service. AI headshots are generated images, not photographs, so they aren't suitable for passports, IDs, licenses or other official documents.

The bottom line

HeadshotPro is a strong, well-known service, and it is the better fit when you want a large style library, edit credits, the faster Professional or Executive delivery, 4K or landscape files, or a company rollout with an admin dashboard and invoices.

Fylvy is for people who want less to think about: one price, all 10 looks, no account, selfies deleted right after use, and a refund rule you can use after you've actually looked at your photos.

All 10 looks are included, with nothing to pick. No account, selfies deleted as soon as your headshots are made, and a refund that still works after you download if none of the photos are usable.
