Fylvy vs BetterPic: an honest comparison
Updated October 30, 2026 · 14 min read

Fylvy is the simpler order. You pay $39 once and all 10 looks are included, without choosing styles. You don't create an account. Your selfies are deleted the moment your photos are made. And the refund is still available after you've downloaded and looked at your photos, if none of them are usable.
BetterPic is a popular AI headshot service with 4K output, a wide range of styles, optional human retouching and a well-priced team offer. Fylvy asks you to upload 8–20 selfies, pay $39 once, and get 40 headshots in 10 looks, usually within about an hour, with no account to create.
This page compares the two fairly, as a which-one-fits-you guide. Every BetterPic fact below comes from BetterPic's own website and help center, checked on October 30, 2026, and every Fylvy fact comes from fylvy.com on the same day. BetterPic is the stronger choice for several specific jobs, and we say so. Prices change, so check both sites before you buy. We also compare HeadshotPro and Aragon.
The short answer
- Choose Fylvy if you want all 10 looks included without choosing styles, no account, your selfies deleted the moment your photos are made, and a refund that's still available after you've downloaded and looked at your photos.
- Choose BetterPic if you want 4K files, more headshots for the same price, the option to try it free, human retouching, a larger style library, or low per-person pricing for a big team.
Someone who wants a LinkedIn photo, an office shot and an outdoor shot from one checkout, and does not want to guess the styles first, is who Fylvy is for. Someone who will print the photo large, wants a free try before paying, or is buying for 15 or more people, is who BetterPic is for. A few colleagues who can each pay $39 and agree on one look can use Fylvy. A company that wants locked outfits and a per-person price that drops as the headcount grows is in BetterPic's team pricing.

Price and what you get
BetterPic's pricing page lists three one-time packages:
- Basic, $35: 20 headshots, 1 style, 4K, ready in about 2 hours, 2 AI edits.
- Pro, $39: 60 headshots, 3 styles, 4K, ready in about 1.5 hours, 4 AI edits.
- Expert, $79: 120 headshots, 6 styles, 4K, ready in about 1 hour, 8 AI edits, unlimited human edits on 1 photo and 1 free redo.
BetterPic also has a free tier with up to 10 4K headshots, delivered through a queue. A style is one background, one clothing style and one clothing color, chosen from 150+ styles and backgrounds.
Fylvy is $39 for 40 headshots in 10 looks: classic gray studio, bright white studio, modern office, outdoor, city street, library, dark executive, creative casual, tech startup, and medical/professional.
Who each price is for
BetterPic Basic ($35) suits someone who wants 4K, is happy with 20 photos in one style, and can wait about 2 hours. It is the lower individual price, with 2 AI edits.
BetterPic Pro ($39) suits someone comparing the same dollar amount and who wants 60 headshots, 3 styles and 4K, ready in about 1.5 hours, with 4 AI edits. If the count of photos and the file size are the brief, this is the $39 package to look at.
BetterPic Expert ($79) suits someone who wants 120 headshots, 6 styles, 8 AI edits, unlimited human edits on one photo, and a free redo, in about an hour.
BetterPic's free tier suits someone who is not sure AI headshots are for them at all and wants to see up to 10 4K photos before paying. Delivery is queue-based. That try-before-you-pay path is on BetterPic. Fylvy's order is the $39 checkout.
Fylvy ($39) suits someone who wants breadth without deciding the styles first: 10 distinct looks in every order. You don't have to predict whether you'll want a studio shot for LinkedIn, an office shot for a company page, or an outdoor shot for a speaker bio. There is one price and no second tier.
Image quality and resolution
BetterPic delivers 4K images on every paid package and accepts a wide range of upload formats. If you plan to print your headshot large, use it on a conference banner, or crop it heavily, that extra resolution is a real advantage, and BetterPic is the fit.
Fylvy's photos are made for the places most people use a headshot: LinkedIn, resumes, company sites, email signatures, listings and directories. If print is your main use, choose BetterPic. If the photo lives on a profile or a web page, Fylvy's files are made for that.
On likeness, both companies are realistic. BetterPic says between 85% and 95% of its users are satisfied with the set they receive. Fylvy says plainly that some images will miss, which is why you get 40 across 10 looks and keep the ones that look like you. On either service, plan to choose, not to keep every frame.
Styles and editing
BetterPic advertises 150+ styles and backgrounds. You choose 1, 3 or 6 depending on your package, and each style is a combination of background, clothing style and clothing color. After delivery you can use AI edits, or pay $8 per human edit to fix things like clothing errors or dark circles under the eyes. If you like control, or you want a person to retouch one photo, BetterPic is built for that. Unlimited human edits on 1 photo are included with Expert.
Fylvy has a fixed set on purpose. Every order includes the same 10 looks, designed to cover common professional uses: the two studio backgrounds, office, outdoor, city, library, dark executive, creative casual, tech startup, and medical/professional. To make the photos match you, you answer a few quick questions (hair, facial hair, glasses) and there's an option for a head covering worn for religious or medical reasons. There is nothing to configure before you pay.
Choose BetterPic if you already know you want three specific combinations, or you want a human edit afterward. Choose Fylvy if you want to see the studio, the office and the outdoor shot without spending the order on picking them. Our guide to the best background for a professional headshot is a useful read either way.

Speed
BetterPic's delivery times are about 2 hours (Basic), 1.5 hours (Pro) and 1 hour (Expert); its free tier is queue-based. Fylvy's results usually arrive within about an hour, and we email you a private link when they're ready.
At the $39 price, Fylvy's usual hour is a bit sooner than BetterPic Pro's about 1.5 hours. BetterPic Expert is about the same hour, with the larger set. Basic is the one to choose if you are fine waiting about 2 hours. The free tier is the one to choose if you can wait in a queue and you want to try before you pay. If you need the photos this afternoon for a profile, Fylvy's usual hour and BetterPic Expert's about an hour are both in range.
Refunds and redos: the biggest practical difference
This is where the two differ most, and it is one of the reasons people pick Fylvy, so it is worth reading closely.
BetterPic's home page advertises a "100% money-back guarantee." The detailed terms in its help center and Terms & Conditions are narrower:
- A full refund is available within 7 days of purchase only if your order hasn't been completed and your model hasn't been trained yet.
- If your model has been trained but you haven't downloaded any images, the refund is minus a 10% fee.
- Once you download any images, the order is not refundable.
- A redo costs $10 (it's included free with Expert), and BetterPic offers it if you followed its upload guide and still aren't happy.
Fylvy's policy, from our refund policy:
- If our system can't create your headshots, you get the full $39 back automatically, with an email. You don't have to ask.
- Every order includes one free redo within 7 days of purchase if your photos don't look like you.
- You can request a full refund within 7 days of delivery if none of your headshots are usable because they clearly don't resemble you, if you were charged twice, or if you never received your results. This must be before your redo photos are delivered; once a redo is delivered, the order is no longer eligible for a refund.
- Downloading photos doesn't by itself end your eligibility.
BetterPic's full refund suits someone who wants protection before the model is trained, or who can decide from the preview without downloading (with a 10% fee once the model has been trained). Fylvy's refund suits someone who wants to see and download the photos and still ask if none of them work. Neither refunds you just because you'd prefer different styles. If a free redo matters on BetterPic, that is the Expert package; otherwise a redo is $10. On Fylvy the one redo is included with every order.
Privacy and data
Both say your photos are used only to create your headshots.
- BetterPic says uploaded photos are stored for 7 days and your trained model for 30 days. Generated headshots are kept until you ask for them to be deleted, which takes 24–48 hours. It stores data mostly in the EU (Frankfurt) and lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR and CCPA compliance.
- Fylvy deletes your selfies automatically as soon as your headshots are created (or immediately if the order fails). Your private model is used only for your order and its one redo, is deleted on request, and is never kept more than 1 year. Your results link works for at least 30 days, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time by emailing support@fylvy.com. We never sell your photos or use them to train other AI models. See our privacy policy.
If your company needs formal certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, BetterPic is the one that publishes them. If you simply want your selfies gone as soon as the headshots exist, Fylvy deletes them at that point. BetterPic's uploads are stored for 7 days and the model for 30 days, which is the schedule to use if your review asks how long a vendor keeps training data.
Accounts
BetterPic runs through an account in its app, where you pick styles, request edits and manage downloads. That account is useful if you expect to spend the AI edits or order a human retouch.
Fylvy has no account: upload, pay through Stripe, and get a private link by email. If you lose the email, the Find my photos page sends it again. No account is the better fit if you want the photos without another login.
Teams
BetterPic has clear, published team pricing, and it is the fit for a large rollout. Its pricing page lists Teams at $49 per seat, company credits at $49 each for 1–4, $39 for 5–14 and $30 for 15–49, and an Enterprise Pack from $26 per credit at 50 down to $13 per credit at 1,000. Team buyers get an admin invite flow (including CSV), locked backgrounds and outfits for brand consistency, and centralized billing. For a large rollout, that per-person price is what the pricing page is offering.
Use the $49 seat or the 1–4 credit price for a handful of people when you still want BetterPic's admin tools. Use the $30 tier when you are buying for 15–49 people. Use the Enterprise Pack when you are at 50 or more and the per-credit price is the reason you are here. Locked backgrounds and outfits suit a brand that wants every photo to match.
Fylvy is the individual order: each person pays $39, with their own selfies, and choosing the same look keeps a team page consistent. There is no team discount. How a small group does that is on our teams page. For a company rollout with invites, locked styles and centralized billing, BetterPic is the setup published for that job.
Who each one is best for
BetterPic is likely the better choice if you:
- want 4K files, or plan to print your headshot or put it on a banner

- want more photos for the money (60 for $39 on Pro, or 120 for $79 on Expert)
- want human retouching ($8 each, or unlimited on one photo with Expert) or a large style library to choose from
- are buying for a team of 15 or more and want the published volume price, down to $13 per credit at 1,000
Fylvy is likely the better choice if you:
- want 10 different looks in one order without choosing styles
- don't want another account
- want your selfies deleted as soon as your photos exist
- want to see and download your photos and still be able to ask for a refund if none of them work
- need a polished headshot for LinkedIn, a resume, a company page or a listing, and 4K is not the requirement

Tips for good results on either service
Upload varied, recent photos of only you in soft, even light, skip hats, sunglasses, filters and group shots, and follow each service's upload guide, since on both services that affects your redo and refund options. Our guide on how to take selfies for AI headshots walks through it step by step. On BetterPic, following the upload guide is part of how a redo is offered. On Fylvy, photos that won't work are flagged before you pay.

A full refund is available within 7 days only if your model hasn't been trained yet, and a 10% fee applies if it has been trained but nothing was downloaded. On Fylvy, downloading doesn't end your eligibility: you can request a full refund within 7 days of delivery if none of your photos are usable, before your redo photos are delivered.
Is a redo free?
On Fylvy, yes: one free redo within 7 days of purchase. On BetterPic, a redo is included free with the Expert package and costs $10 otherwise, according to its site.

Yes, on both. Fylvy customers own their headshots and can use them anywhere, including websites, business cards, team pages and press. BetterPic grants full ownership and a commercial license.
Can I use an AI headshot for a passport or ID?
No. AI headshots are generated images, not photographs, so they're not suitable for passports, IDs, licenses or other official documents, from Fylvy or any other service.
